I was working at another school and though I enjoyed my job, I didn't feel the environment was quite my fit. The demands of high stakes testing and scripted curriculum took the fun out of teaching. However, I am one to stick it out and make the best of every situation I am in. I wasn't looking for a new school or anything of the sort, but I had a sense of uncertainty about the upcoming year and prayed about what that next year would hold. I had a friend recommend that I look into working at HPFS as she thought the community had everything that I was looking for in a teaching position. When I read up on the school and saw they had positions open, I felt like that was God answering my prayer.
I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was as young as I can remember. I have a huge passion for the next generation and being an influence in helping them to learn to become responsible citizens in our world. I want students to be able to take charge of their own learning and relate what they learn in the classroom to the world around them.
