The Parent-Teacher Connection would love to share these parent and student testimonials...

"My time at HPFS has taught me many things.  The three that I will mention are:  respect teachers, real homework, and think before you speak.

I never really respected teachers before.  I just thought they liked to hear themselves speak.  This school, however, has taught me when teachers have something to say, it is worth listening to.  Back at my old school, I didn’t really ever listen to teachers.  Here, I have learned to pay attention to what teachers say.  Many things that teachers have spoken about at this school have helped me.

The second thing I have run into is real homework.  This is definitely not my favorite, but it has helped me.  Back at my old school, I wasn’t challenged.  Here at HPFS they challenge you to reach your full ability.  They don’t give you work that they know you’ll blow through.  They give you work that demands more of you.

My last topic is think before you speak.  I always had trouble with this because I had never been properly taught.  Back at my old school, I would just say whatever came to mind, mean or otherwise.  I would constantly get in trouble and always ended up thinking “why would you say something dumb like that?”  At this school, I’ve learned how to keep quiet when something I’m going to say is hurtful.

Looking back on all I’ve learned has really made me realize how much HPFS means to me.  This school has taught me so much.  I can’t even find words to express my emotions.

Teachers and Friends, thank you so much."

"I remember, about thirteen years ago, when I was in preschool at HPFS at the end of the day we would always roll down the big grassy hill and laugh when we got to the bottom.  By the time I was in third grade, we had a new school building there.  Everyone was a little disappointed that the hill was a little bit smaller, but we were glad to have an elementary school.   Now, we even have a gym and that hill is practically gone, but it was a good exchange.

HPFS is preschool through 8th grade now, and it’s a great school.  I am confident that great things will continue to happen here.  I’m sad to leave, but it’s time to move on.  This school has taught me a lot, and I think it has made me a better person than if I had gone to another school.  The teachers have built me up, helped me to grow, and made me stronger.  All of this has prepared me not only for high school, but also for living my life to the fullest.   I will miss my friends and teachers, some of which I have built incredible relationships with.  I can only hope that high school will be as great of an experience as this school has been for me.”

"In my four years at High Point Friends School, the teachers have really helped me through some of the toughest times in my life.  Being here has taught me so many things about myself I never knew I could accomplish.  I have learned a lot about myself that I would have never found out on my own and it’s all thanks to the school, but more importantly, the teachers.  Thank you High Point Friends."

"Being at HPFS, to me, has meant many things.  Every year that I have been here has been great.  I can remember what the school was like when I attended Preschool here.  We may have gotten a new school building and a gym, but all of the good qualities remain.

It is cool to see people I went to Preschool with and watch kids in younger grades change.  At other schools, you aren’t able to associate with kids even in a different grade.  Here we are able to go upstairs and help out with the kindergarteners.  With the small class sizes, it is like everyone is a family; everyone knows each other and interacts with one another, especially in our eighth grade class with just the five of us.  I think this is one of my favorite qualities of the school.  I enjoy being able to do activities that other schools wouldn’t be able to do.

All of the teachers really care about us and want us to do well.  This is rare to see at other schools.  Here it just feels like everyone knows one another, cares for each other, and it is a great learning experience.  I hope it will stay this way and I hope that all of us can stay in contact.  I will be happy if other schools that I attend in the future will mean half as much to me as this one does."
