After stepping away from full-time teaching to raise my own children for several years, I began working on renewing my teaching license in 2016 and preparing for the right opportunity to get back into the classroom. I was nudged by a family member to explore the Kindergarten teaching position at HPFS. I was fortunate to have all of the pieces of the plan come together at the perfect time!
I love HPFS because the school community feels like family. I enjoy my colleagues professionally and personally and I especially love my students! I value the emphasis on the Quaker S.P.I.C.E.S. and I appreciate the opportunity to teach my students more than just academics. We are encouraged to teach life lessons and make character education and service learning a priority.
I am fortunate to have found a career I am passionate about! From the time I was a teenager, I felt a calling to become a teacher and make a difference in the lives of children. It brings me great joy to teach children how to read and enjoy learning! I love to challenge myself in the classroom because every year brings new and exciting opportunities.
