Cooper Lowe Memorial Friends and Heroes Race to 5K

About the 5K
The Cooper Lowe 5K is an annual fundraising event that honors the memory of our dear community member, Cooper Lowe, whose untimely death left a void for so many. His legacy is one of friendship, kindness, brotherhood, and compassion. Cooper often took younger students under his arm and showed them what it felt like to have a big brother. He was a compassionate young man eager to help others and was an excellent teammate to his peers. We at High Point Friends School celebrate the life of Cooper Lowe. As a community, we raise funds in Cooper's honor to continue his legacy of friendship and fairmindedness.
Cooper's Annual 5K brings community members together for a celebratory event and allows us the opportunity to make a great impact on the community in memory of this special young man. This year, as with all things, the race will look a little different as we will be virtually Racing to 5K. Rather than gathering on one day to race, we will celebrate with a virtual Race to 5K with community heroes and friends heading our race teams. Our team leaders spotlight the front line community members who have raced tirelessly since March to ensure our own safety and comfort. We have medical professionals. teachers, and first responders, and we hope you will choose one or more to support this year's race event. In addition, our students will train and race their own 1K this year and we will have the opportunity to help cheer them as well to recognize the importance of physical activity and fitness for all of us.
All of the money raised will be used to help enhance and expand our outdoor play spaces and classrooms as well as purchase additional athletic equipment for our older students. Now more than ever, we realize the importance of physical and self-care to ensure healthy bodies and minds for all of us.
