Both my son and daughter attended and completed middle school at HPFS. I had been teaching at the Montessori School of Winston-Salem for seven years prior to coming to HPFS. I wanted to teach at a school closer to where my children were and HPFS was starting a new, full-day preschool program.
I first came to love HPFS as a parent because I saw the positive impact the teachers and staff were having on my oldest child during his sixth and seventh-grade years. When my daughter began school at HPFS, she also had excellent teachers who cared about her and challenged her. I am very grateful both my son and daughter had the opportunity to complete their middle school education at HPFS. They were both well-prepared for a rigorous academic high school program, they were encouraged to grow spiritually, and they received multiple opportunities for honing their leadership skills.
I teach preschool children because I am daily inspired by their sense of wonder and their enthusiasm for learning. I enjoy how inquisitive young children are and their authenticity.
