Eighth grade serves as a transitional year to high school. We have high expectations for our eighth grade students and work specifically with them on time management, organization, and accountability consistent with the demands of high school.
Beginning in late fall, students begin thinking about high school placement and guidance is given to parents and students in finding the appropriate placement for their child in high school. Parents and students work closely with our Middle School Director to research schools and complete applications for those students moving on to a magnet school or private school. Eighth graders also serve as mentors to our kindergarten students and participate in many activities with them throughout the year.
Students leave our middle school program highly prepared not only academically for high school, but also confident in leadership, public speaking, and character choices.
